The new Clevy 3 keyboard is an enhanced version of Clevy’s popular mechanical keyboard, which has been used for many years in preschools, special education schools, and daily activity centers. It features a robust design to withstand rough handling, yet has the same external dimensions as a conventional keyboard.
Color coding:
The keyboard has color-coded keys, with different functions assigned their own color. Vowels are light blue, consonants are dark blue, numbers are red, punctuation marks are orange, and typical keyboard functions such as delete, space, enter, etc., are green. For users who prefer a keyboard without color coding and with high contrast, we recommend the Clevy Kontrast keyboard instead.
Large keys (x 4):
The keys are four times larger than those on a standard keyboard. In addition, the symbols on the keys are enlarged to make it easier to identify the different letters and numbers.
Reduced number of keys:
Keys that are rarely used have been removed, but the F-keys can still be used by pressing the letter F + the number keys.
The font is used in special education
The characters on the Clevy use a font that is often used specifically for teaching writing and in special education. It has been shown that most people find it much easier to read compared to the characters on conventional keyboards. The characters on conventional keyboards are not aligned with one another. This can often make it difficult for children and people with disabilities to “find the right key.” Clevy therefore uses a grid pattern where each key is aligned vertically with the row above and below it.
Built-in spill protection
Clevy has built-in spill protection, so if you accidentally spill something on the keyboard, it can drain out through a hole in the bottom of the keyboard. All keys have a raised “rim” to prevent spills from flowing down to the sensitive electronics inside the keyboard itself. This also means that the Clevy educational keyboard is significantly easier to clean than conventional keyboards.
Solid Construction:
Clevy is a mechanical keyboard with internal steel frames, and each individual key is mounted on a high-quality mechanical switch capable of withstanding over 60 million keystrokes. Mechanical keyboards offer more audible and tactile feedback than membrane keyboards and are 100 times more durable than a standard keyboard. This makes it ideal for children, schools, or use in educational institutions.
Keyboard covers are available as accessories for Clevy keyboards. Some users need to rest their hands on the keyboard to find the right key. You cannot do this without a keyboard cover; Clevy keyboard covers can be ordered as accessories. It’s made of durable, transparent plexiglass, allowing you to see the keys clearly even when the cover is in place.
The keyboard can be connected via USB or wirelessly via Bluetooth. This means you can use it with virtually any device: iPad, iPhone, Android tablets/phones, PC, Chromebook, or Mac.
If you prefer to connect via a USB cable instead of wirelessly, a USB cable is included in the box.
